1. About these Terms

These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) apply to all purchases made through our online store www.chessshop.eu. By placing an order, you confirm that you have read and agree to these Terms.


2. Orders and Contract

  • By displaying products in our online shop, we invite you to make an order.

  • A purchase contract is concluded once we confirm your order (by email) or once we ship the goods.

  • We may contact you to verify your order. In justified cases (e.g., obvious price error, sold-out items), we may decline it.


3. Prices and Payment

  • All prices are shown in EUR, including VAT (if applicable), excluding shipping costs.

  • Final shipping costs and payment fees are displayed before you confirm the order.

  • Accepted payment methods: bank transfer, online payment, cash on delivery (if available), or cash upon collection (if available).

  • Goods remain our property until paid in full.


4. Delivery

  • Delivery options and costs are shown during checkout.

  • We ship within the EU and worldwide (if available). Delivery times depend on product availability, payment, and shipping method.

  • Risk of accidental damage passes to you once the goods are handed to the carrier.

  • Please check the package on delivery. If visibly damaged, do not accept it and notify the courier.

Customs and Import Duties (non-EU countries):
If you order goods for delivery outside the European Union, please note that import duties, taxes, and customs fees may apply in your country. These charges are not included in the product price or shipping cost and are the responsibility of the customer. Customs policies vary from country to country, so please check with your local customs office for details. We are not responsible for any delays or additional costs caused by customs procedures.


5. Right of Withdrawal (14 days)

  • Consumers from the EU may withdraw from the purchase within 14 days after receiving the goods, without giving any reason.

  • To withdraw, send us an email or letter (use our Withdrawal Form if you wish).

  • We will refund all payments including standard delivery costs (not premium delivery options) within 14 days. We may wait with the refund until we receive the goods back or proof of return.

  • You must return the goods at your own expense (unless otherwise agreed).

Reduction in value:
If the goods are handled in a way beyond what is necessary to test them (e.g., missing or damaged original packaging, visible scratches, worn parts, incomplete return), we may reduce the refund to reflect the loss of value.

Exceptions:
You cannot withdraw from:

  • custom-made or personalized goods,

  • goods sealed for hygiene reasons once unsealed,

  • goods that spoil quickly.


6. Warranty and Returns

  • We guarantee that the goods are free from defects upon delivery.

  • Warranty for consumers: 24 months (unless otherwise stated). For used goods: at least 12 months.

  • For business customers (B2B): warranty is limited as permitted by law.

  • To claim a defect, contact us and send the goods to our return address with proof of purchase and description of the defect.

  • We will handle your claim promptly, at the latest within 30 days.

If the defect is confirmed, you may request:

  • repair or replacement (where possible),

  • a reasonable discount,

  • or refund if the defect is major.


7. Business Customers (B2B)

If you purchase using a business ID number (VAT/IČO), consumer rights (such as 14-day withdrawal) do not apply. Disputes will be handled by the court competent for our company’s registered office (Czech Republic).


8. Personal Data Protection (GDPR)

  • We process your personal data only to fulfill your order, handle payments, shipping, warranty claims, and to meet legal obligations.

  • With your consent, we may also use your data for newsletters or special offers (you can unsubscribe anytime).

  • Your data may be shared only with partners necessary to process your order (carriers, payment providers, IT or accounting services).

  • You have the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict your data, object to processing, and lodge a complaint with your local Data Protection Authority.

9. Dispute Resolution

  • We always aim to solve any issues quickly and fairly. Please contact us first.

10. Final Provisions

  • These Terms are governed by the laws of the Czech Republic.

  • If any provision is invalid, the rest remains in force.

  • The version of the Terms valid at the time of your order applies.
